Join CACD and learn the Cape Verdean Language! This 10-week virtual course will cover the fundamentals of the Cape Verdean “Kriolu” language in all its forms and dialects, the history + culture, and the local and trends and values. This course will be taught by a licensed linguistic instructor who is a native and current resident of the Cape Verde islands. The Spring 2024 session will feature three classes: New Beginner, Beginner Continued, and Intermediate/Advanced level class. Each class is one hour long and will be held online via Zoom once per week. Registration is first come, first serve. - Each student is responsible for a $110 non-refundable registration fee for classes that run weekly for 10 weeks. Classes will be held on Zoom.com. Each student is responsible for creating their own Zoom account. All first-time students will receive, via mail, the book "Kabuverdianu: a Language Guide for Learners" written by your instructor, Adelaide Monteiro. Adelaide Tavares Monteiro
Adelaide is a licensed linguist and Portuguese and the Cape Verdean Language professor. She also authorizes “Kabuverdianu, a Language Guide for Learners.” Adelaide is a skilled and experienced Professor who instructs courses in the Cape Verde Islands, Portugal, and the USA (virtually).
